Punk Rock
Punk rock was a reaction to the commercialization of 1970’s rock music. Some claim that punk is a style of music, while some claim that punk rock is music produced with certain principles (nonconformity, do-it-yourself, rebellion, etc.) in mind. Regardless, the earliest forms of punk rock produced some highly successful bands, such as the Ramones. The genre itself became a catalyst for several other genres, including New Wave and Grunge. Punk, in general, tends to be loud, sloppy, and offensive. I mean that as a compliment. Hear the raw energy of these musicians on vinyl for the purest rock and roll experience available.
