Twisted Sister
The Dee Snider-fronted glam-metal band Twisted Sister is responsible for two of rock’s greatest anthems: “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.” Formed in the midst of the early-’70s New York glam-rock scene, Twisted Sister didn’t achieve mainstream success until the early ’80s – but when they did, they really did. Released on May 10, 1984, Twisted Sister’s third album, Stay Hungry, was a major commercial breakthrough yielding the band’s two monster hits and going multi-platinum. Though the fame came and went, Twisted Sister’s impact is still evident today and the band’s rebellious rock is awesome on vinyl.
