Black and Blue
The Rolling Stones’ Black and Blue was released in April 1976 and the single “Fool to Cry” was a top-10 hit in the US and UK. It was their first studio album with guitarist Ronnie Wood, who replaced Mick Taylor. However, Harvey Mandel and Wayne Perkins also play guitar on the album. Black and Blue mixes funk, reggae, jazz, and rock. The album peaked at number 2 in the UK and topped the charts in the US. Two tracks originally recorded for Black and Blue were later released on the Tattoo You album. These were “Slave” and “Worried About You.” Black and Blue also features Billy Preston and Nicky Hopkins. It was produced by The Glimmer Twins (Jagger and Richards) and originally released on Rolling Stones/Atlantic.
