    • The Allman Brothers

    One of the main bands associated with the formation of the “Southern Rock” sound, including elements of Blues and Hard Rock, The Allman Brothers Band has achieved legendary status. Of course, the Allman Brothers were not strictly tied to this genre. At heart, they were a jam band, incorporating elements of classical and jazz music as well. The original lineup showed great promise, but unfortunately was cut far too short when lead guitarist Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. The band did recover, and has prevailed to this day. Listening to their classic albums such as their live album “At Fillmore East”, and their original album “The Allman Brothers Band” with the unique sounds of Duane Allman’s guitar playing really shines on vinyl.
