    • Slow Train Coming

    “Slow Train Coming” was Bob Dylan’s 19th studio album, but the first one since becoming a born-again Christian.  Following up on “Street Legal,” Dylan continued his religious theme on this album.  He not only wrote about his personal faith, but also the importance of religious teachings in the world at that time.  This grew for him an entirely new fan base of Christians while at the same time alienating some of his previous fans that loved Dylan for his political beliefs.  The album was even listed as #16 on The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music.  The top single “Gotta Serve Somebody” hit the charts again giving him is first hit in almost 3 years and even gained him the Grammy for best rock vocal performance by a male in 1980.
