Alan Parsons
Best known as the man behind the Alan Parsons Project, the British musician is also a Grammy-nominated audio engineer who was involved with the production of landmark albums such as the Beatles’ Abbey Road and Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon. In 1975, Parsons decided to team up with fellow producer and songwriter Eric Woolfson and form the studio-based Alan Parsons Project. Over the next 15 years, they would record 10 thematic records with a revolving group of studio musicians – among them Arthur Brown, ex-Zombie Colin Blunstone, Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley, the Hollies’ Allan Clarke, and Pilot’s Ian Bairnson – but only perform once, in 1990. After releasing a number of solo albums, Parsons now tours as the Alan Parsons Live Project and has been at the helm of Beatles and Pink Floyd tribute shows.
