Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)
David Bowie had made a name for himself all though the 1970’s, but it was the 1980’s that his career really went commercial. Starting with the album “Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps” Bowie achieved a new balance of his music. A little more pop sounding but still with amazing lyrics, Bowie put together an album to was almost guaranteed to succeed, and it did, both with fans and critics. With songs like “Ashes to Ashes” and “Fashion” the album spoke about politics and political imprisonment while still keeping it fun and light. It truly was the benchmark for what the 80’s were going to be.
