The Time
As a funk and dance pop group, The Time were well known for their ensemble members, most notably Prince, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The Time started as a total funk group called “Flyte Tyme” and drew from another local band called “Enterprise” to complete the many member group. During the early 1980’s, The Time released four albums which were met to some commercial success. With their rock infused funk, the songs such as “The Bird” and “Jungle Love” were hits, but the group never reached superstardom as they had hoped. Shortly thereafter everyone went their own way, but later reunited for a new album “Pandemonium” which received high acclaim. The Time was a fun band to listen to back in the day, especially when you hear them on vinyl.
