Sorcerer
Sorcerer was a jazz/Modal jazz album that was released by Miles Davis in 1967. The album was originally released by Columbia by Teo Macero and was recorded in various studios in New York City. It was re-released by Legacy in 1998 with bonus tracks. The only song from the album that was known to have appeared in Davis’ live performances is “Masqualero”. Sorcerer features appearances by Tony Williams, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Ron Carter. Sorcerer also includes one song from a 1962 session with vocalist Bob Dorough. The album’s cover featured actress Cicely Tyson, who was Davis’ wife at the time.
