Milestones
Milestones is a studio album by jazz legend Miles Davis. It was recorded in February and March 1958 and released the same year for Columbia Records. The album is notable for including Miles’ early forays into the developing modal jazz experiments, as showcased on the track “Milestones”. Moreover, the performance of his sextet, featuring Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane contributing on tracks like “Straight No Chaser”, have caused it to be highly regarded among jazz musicians, fans and critics. It also marks the last time the rhythm section of Jones, Garland and Chambers would ever play with Miles on record.
