Miles Davis Volume 1
Miles Davis Volume 1 is a compilation album by jazz legend Miles Davis. It was recorded on 9 May 1952 and 6 March 1954 and released in 1955 for Blue Note Records. Although Davis was struggling with drug abuse during the period of these recordings, the music in this album is no less powerful than his later works. The great steady bebop sound is prevalent through most of the record, and the dexterity of the performers is something to behold. Even though this particular style of jazz music was common among a number of artists of the era, it must be said that few could play at this caliber.
