    MC Lyte is one of the first commercially successful female rappers. Starting her career in 1986, MC Lyte put out her first hip hop record in 1988. It was her second album “Eye’s on This” that was a huge fan favorite and even gave her the first #1 Rap Track of her career. In 1993 she received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Single and had the first ever gold single by a solo female rap artist. Mc Lyte is a pioneer in the world of female rappers and sounds absolutely amazing on vinyl.
