Alison Krauss
From child violin prodigy to the most awarded singer and female artist in Grammy music history, winning a total of 26 awards, Alison Krauss and her band Union Station are largely to credit for re-popularizing bluegrass music in the ’90s. Her 1995 compilation Now That I’ve Found You: A Collection broke the Top Ten of both the country and the pop charts, and many of her albums have been certified gold. Krauss also contributed to the O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Cold Mountain soundtracks. A highly versatile artist, Krauss has produced albums for Nickel Creek and even collaborated with Robert Plant, yet always respected tradition in her contemporary approach to bluegrass. There is nothing like her honeyed vocals on vinyl.
