Bossa Nova
Bossa Nova music came from Brazil during the late 1950’s. It became popular amongst jazz fans in America during the mid to later 1960’s. Some of the most famous Bossa Nova music was made by Stan Getz in his collaborations with Antonio Carlos (Tom) Jobim and Joao Gilberto. Bossa Nova has a distinct, but jazzy sound. It is often mellow with lush string arrangements, rhythmic guitar playing, and a unique style of percussion. Listening to Bossa Nova on vinyl is the best way to experience the sound of this very unique and very special style of latin music.
