  • Rory Gallagher

Rory Gallagher is an Irish blues-rock musician known for his prolific solo output and relentless touring. Even when Ireland was erupting in political unrest and bands were advised not to tour, Gallagher toured his home country at least once a year. After moving to London, Gallagher formed the trio Taste and recorded three albums with them before pursuing a solo career, which lasted throughout the ’70s and ’80s. Ranked one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Gallagher drew inspiration from American bluesmen and experimented heavily with different blues styles throughout his lifetime. He even collaborated with Jerry Lee Lewis and Muddy Waters on their respective London Sessions in the mid ‘70s. Though his life was cut short in 1995 due to complications from a liver transplant, Gallagher’s legacy is extensive and his talents have influenced the likes of Slash (Guns N’ Roses), the Edge (U2), Johnny Marr (The Smiths), and even Queen’s lead guitarist, Brian May!
