Whitesnake
An English hard rock band founded by former Deep Purple frontman David Coverdale in 1977, Whitesnake is most famous for hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Fool for Your Loving.” By the release of the band’s sixth album and U.S. debut, Slide It In (1984), Whitesnake had started to shift from blues-rock to hair metal. The band underwent various shifts in personnel, as well, even including guitarist Steve Vai for 1989’s Slip of the Tongue. After multiple hiatuses and resurrections, Whitesnake made an impressive comeback in 2008 with Good to Be Bad. Considered by many to be among the greatest voices in rock, nothing beats Coverdale’s screeching pipes on vinyl.
