“Dangerous” was Michael Jackson’s eighth album and had a release date of November 26, 1991. The album spent 4 continual weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart and was noted as being his second album to debut that way.
Thirty-two million copies have been sold of the “Dangerous” album to date with more than 7 million of those sales accounting for the United States alone. This made it the second best Michael Jackson album coming only second to “Thriller”. He took home a Grammy for the Best Engineered Album and also got recognition for being the first to get eight continual top 20 hits in the UK.
The “Dangerous” album also stretched the boundaries of the highest technology we had to date in the 1990’s; the compact disc. Unlike the traditional 10 songs with 50 minutes of play, the “Dangerous” album took on 14 songs with about 77 minutes of play.
