In A Silent Way
In a Silent Way was recorded and released by jazz trumpeter Miles Davis in 1969 on the Columbia record label. It was produced by Teo Macero and featured guest appearances by Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Tony Williams, and John McLaughlin. This album was regarded as Davis’ first full blown recording of avant garde jazz/fusion. The album features three keyboard players, and Austrian-born pianist Joe Zawinul supplies an Alpine flair through the folk-oriented theme of “In a Silent Way.” The recording was done at the 30th Street Studio in New York City. The album was later re-mastered and reissued on the Legacy label in 2002. This is a classic album that sparked the entire jazz fusion movement and should not be missed!
