Aura
Released in 1989, Aura was a concept album by the musician Miles Davis. The album was produced by Danish trumpeter/composer Palle Mikkelborg who also provided all the arrangements and compositions of the album. The main theme of the album consists of 10 notes which are given by the letters “MILES DAVIES”. The album itself is not classed as a conventional jazz album and is best described as fusion jazz. The album was actually recorded in Copenhagen in 1985 at the Easy Sound Studios but due to issues in contracts in the album is not released until 1989. In 1990, Aura won the Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Performance.
