Black Label Society
Formed by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde, Black Label Society is a heavy-metal band that has been churning out epic slabs of guitar-heavy metal since 1999. The band’s debut album, Sonic Brew, was pure Southern-fried metal while later albums shed (most of) this Skynyrd flavor in favor of breakneck solos, meaty riffs, guttural dirges, and, in the case of 2004’s Hangover Music vol. VI, some more mellow acoustic guitar and piano. If you can’t catch these guys at Ozzfest, be sure to check them out on vinyl.
