Steppenwolf
As a rock band that effectively helped to establish heavy metal music, Steppenwolf was formed in 1967 in times when heavy metal music was simply not appreciated. With 13 hot 100 singles they were able to become quite commercially successful for their time. Their classic songs “Rock Me” and “Born to Be Wild” are what they are most known for. They enjoyed worldwide success and really helped to pioneer the heavy metal industry, making it what it is today. Listening to them on vinyl is still as excellent as it was back in the 1960’s and 1970’s when their music first came out.
