Ringo Starr
Ringo Starr will always be known as the drummer of the Fab Four. But in addition to the role he played in one of the most influential bands ever (not only did he play drums for the Beatles, he wrote “Octopus’ Garden” and “Don’t Pass Me By”), he has had a hefty solo career, releasing 17 albums to date and scoring ’70s hits like “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Back Off Boogaloo.” His 1973 eponymous album went platinum on the success of the #1 hits “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen,” and its 1974 follow-up, Goodnight Vienna, was nearly as successful. Though Ringo’s commercial success declined in the ‘80s, he made a comeback in ’89 touring with his All-Starr Band and then again in 1998 with the album Vertical Man. Whether he’s performing with the Beatles, his various ensembles of All-Starrs, or solo, Ringo Starr is a force to be reckoned with on vinyl.
