Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd is the most famous of a group of classic/hard rock bands that were labeled “Southern Rock”. During their short career, they produced several hits, many of which are still very famous, such as the classic “Sweet Home Alabama”. Their song “Free Bird” contains one of the most intense guitar parts ever recorded. The band’s career was cut short when several members of the band died in a plane crash in 1977. The band reformed in 1987, and continues to perform.
