Travis Barker
Most people know him as the drummer for the late ’90s pop-punk band Blink-182, but Travis Barker has proved to be one of the most versatile artists on the scene today. Getting his start as Baron Von Tito in the Orange County ska band the Aquabats, he joined Blink-182 in time to record their 1999 breakthrough album, Enema of the State. Meanwhile, Barker started a hip-hop influenced side project with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and Rob Aston called the Transplants, and in the years following Blink-182’s hiatus collaborated with the late DJ AM. He also become a seasoned hip-hop producer and drummer, working on albums with Diddy, the Black Eyed Peas, and T.I., and on remixes with Eminem and Rihanna. 2011 may just be his year, though, as Barker puts all of his talents to use on his debut solo album, Give the Drummer Some, and Blink-182 returns with their long-awaited sixth studio album.
