    Tenacious D is the ultimate parody band – an antidote to “the masculinity of rock” according to its founder, comedian Jack Black, who along with guitarist and singer Kyle Gass has invented the genre of mock rock. Poking fun at the machismo of rock, the band fuses comical lyrics with a theatrical delivery and some meaty hooks; the twist is that Tenacious D actually rocks, and its music cred is no joke. Everyone from Dave Grohl to Bad Religion’s Brooks Wackerman has performed with the band, which became arena stars in the 2000s. With three albums out, Tenacious D rocks hard and is amazing on vinyl!
