Jack White
One of the most enigmatic and influential artists of the 21st century, Jack White is a sort of music historian who, with each fierce guitar riff, has reconnected hard rock with its folk and blues roots. With his punk-blues duo the White Stripes, White helped ignite a garage-rock revival; with his band the Raconteurs, he dove into heavy power-pop; then with the supergroup the Dead Weather, he seared through wicked blues-rock. Now with a new solo album out, numerous production credits under his belt, and his own Nashville-based Third Man Records (home to such vinyl innovations as the Texas-sized 13-inch LP, under-label grooves, triple decker records, and a liquid-filled 12-inch), White continues to impact the musical landscape even after the White Stripes called it quits. Considering his purist vintage leanings, it’s no surprise that all of his recorded output sounds seriously amazing on vinyl.
