Bjork
Björk Gudmundsdóttir is an Icelandic singer, producer, and songwriter who has changed the fibers of music with her unique, eclectic approach. Björk first became known outside of Europe as one of the lead vocalists for the Icelandic art-rock sextet the Sugarcubes. When the group disbanded in 1992, Björk launched what has proved to be an incredibly successful and influential solo career. A true innovator, she pushes the boundaries of sound, artistic concept, production, and voice—her own instrument. This has resulted in an excitingly diverse discography that includes everything from big band Icelandic jazz to dance and techno albums. Her wintry soundscapes, vocal experiments, introverted worlds of tiny beats, and extroverted worlds of lush strings and enormous beats magically come alive on vinyl.
