3 Doors Down
3 Doors Down is one of the last big mainstream radio bands to come out of the late ’90s. Formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1996, the alternative rockers went from the Deep South to New York’s CBGB’s and eventually the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts on the success of their first single, “Kryptonite.” They continued this momentum with their debut album, 2000’s The Better Life, and its 2002 follow-up, Away from the Sun, both going multi-platinum in the US and their next two albums, 2005’s Seventeen Days and 2008’s 3 Doors Down, both debuting at #1. In addition to “Kryptonite,” which has become the band’s signature song, 3 Doors Down have enjoyed a string of hit singles including “When I’m Gone” and “Here Without You.” Their Southern-fried, metal-infused guitar rock sounds awesome on vinyl.
