Barry White
Barry White was a hugely popular and influential vocalist, composer and bandleader that came out of the late 1960’s/early 1970’s R&B and Soul music scene. Barry White’s music was notable in that it combined elements and instrumentation of classical music (including strings, harpsichord, and woodwinds), as well as the sounds of Soul and R&B music. Of course, what ultimately made Barry White a legend was his inimitable bass voice. Barry White often included short spoken-word passages in his songs that added a romantic mood to his music. In addition to his work as a vocalist, Barry White’s compositions were pioneering works in the Disco music scene of the later 1970’s. The warmth of Barry White’s vocals and music cannot be heard at their fullest potential unless they’re heard on vinyl.
