    Tears for Fears were one of the leading British synth-pop bands of the ‘80s – both a commercial success and an artistic tour de force. Known for hits like “Shout,” “Head Over Heels,” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” off their 1985 smash Songs from the Big Chair, Tears for Fears explored more ambitious themes than many of their contemporaries (for instance Arthur Janov’s primal scream therapy) as well as gospel and soul.
