La Bamba
La Bamba, a 1987 biographical film based on the life of rock star Ritchie Valens, was a relatively small but incredibly powerful film. Since the film is based in 1950’s, much of the film was based on contemporary music as well as the music by Ritchie Valens. That is why the soundtrack to La Bamba has become so popular as well as the movie. The soundtrack to La Bamba was released in 1987 and contained 12 tracks such as the title song “La Bamba” as well as “We Belong Together” and “Come On Lets Go.” It reached number one on the Billboard 200 album chart in September of 1987. Listening to it today on vinyl, you can see why the music helped make the film so great.
