McCoy Tyner
McCoy Tyner is one of the most original and influential jazz pianists of the 20th Century. A virtuoso known for his unique chordings, two-handed forays, and Thelonious Monk-inspired percussive style, Tyner was an integral part of John Coltrane’s classic quartet from 1960 to 1965. He went on to enjoy a successful solo career heading combos, arranging for big bands, and leading his own trio and quartet. Over the course of his long career, Tyner has embraced a range of styles from African rhythms to the modal harmonies of post-bop. Listening to this innovative jazz artist on vinyl is amazing.
