My Fair Lady
My Fair Lady
As one of the most popular musicals and musical soundtracks, My Fair Lady was based upon George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. The music by Frederick Loewe simply captivated audiences when it first opened on Broadway in 1956. It was an immediate smash hit and set a new record for the longest run of any major musical theatre production in history. Often called “the perfect musical” it really is the music of My Fair Lady that makes it as popular as it is. Some of the best songs on the My Fair Lady soundtrack include “Wouldn’t It Be Lovely?,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” and “The Rain in Spain.” They all sound wonderful on vinyl.
